Description

Wouldn’t it be fun to have a friend living right next door to you?  Well, as Norton discovers, it can certainly pose some challenges when that friend wants to borrow all of your favourite things. This is a story about setting limits and learning to accept your friends, flaws and all.

Author Biography:

Gabriel Evans is an Australian picture book author and illustrator who was shortlisted for the 2021 Children's Book Council of Australia Picture Book of the Year for Norton and the Bear. Gabriel is also the winner of the 2021 inaugural SCBWI Australian Picture Book Illustrator Award in the "Established Illustrator" category. Gabriel has published books with Berbay, Penguin Random House, Hardie Grant Egmont, Scholastic and Walker Books.  He runs workshops and talks in schools and libraries around Australia and has visited numerous locations – from the busy streets of Sydney (NSW) and Melbourne (VIC), to remote communities in the Australian Kimberley and Pilbara regions.  He spends the rest of his time working from a small, messy studio on a hill where he drinks tea and makes books. Gabriel is a young super talent whose work will resonate with fans of Gus Gordon and Patrick McDonnell.
