Doreen Rappaport is the author of many fiction and non-fiction books for young readers, specializing in multicultural history, historical fiction and retellings of folktales and myths. She lives in New York, USA. Shane W. Evans has illustrated several children's books including the two previous titles in Doreen Rappaport's series on African-American history. He also works in photography and furniture design. Shane lives in Missouri, USA.
