Author Biography:

Dernel Tainer Gabriel is a Saint Lucian poet, educator, youth worker and author who resides in London UK. An avid reader from very early on, during these very impressionable years, it was rare for Dernel to come across books that reflected her or others she could relate. She was perplexed by this, but her young mind could offer no solutions. She eventually decided that one day she would write a book( one that would not leave the reader feeling confused and disconnected) Dernel has dedicated her adult life to children and young people, and one of her life's mission is to create a character that all children can relate. So with her wild and sometimes outlandish imagination, Dernel created Niyah Moon. When Dernel is not writing poems or working on her art portfolio in her spare time, you can find her snuggled in bed with a book or bingeing on a Netflix series. On a full moon, you will catch her attempting to do it all of at the same time.
