When Nancy Drew (Bonita Granville) learns of a mystery in River Heights she investigates as an amateur journalist and discovers a plot to frame an innocent young woman for murder. Gaining the helpful support of friend Ted Nickerson (Frank Thomas Jr.) as well as some legal advice from her attorney father Carson (John Litel), Nancy sets out to find enough evidence to elucidate the true crime, prove the identity of the real killer and perhaps even win the journalism prize as well.
