Driven by his sportsmanship, infectious sense of humour and boundless energy, he set stadiums alight when on the charge "like a mad giraffe". Now, at the age of 48, Doddie faces an entirely different adversary: Motor Neurone Disease. It's a challenge he has tackled with undaunted positivity.
