Author Biography:

John Muir (1838-1914) immigrated to the United States from Scotland as a boy, eventually becoming known as the "Father of the National Parks." A naturalist, explorer, author, and preservationist, Muir co-founded the Sierra Club, one of the world's first environmental organizations, and advocated for the establishment of Yosemite National Park. Kevin Dye has taught English at a community college since 2003.
