Ages 3 to 6 years. The story follows five-year-old Daniel as he leaves behind pre-school and enters kindergarten full of questions and fears. Children will relate to Daniel as he wonders: Where will I sit on the school bus? Will my teacher be nice? Will I make friends? With the encouragement of his Mum and other people in his community, Daniel begins his first day of school, and all of his fears disappear as he discovers that kindergarten is fun.

P K Hallinan has been writing and illustrating books for children since his wife first asked him to create one for their boys over 35 years ago. Today, P K writes inspirational stories about holidays, relationships, and life values. In addition to his writing, P K is an ordained minister and well-known school speaker. He lives with his wife in Ashland, Oregon.
