Joey Acker is the illustrator and co-author of My P.E. Teacher is a Ninja, My Teacher is an Elf, and My Counselor is a Princess. With aspirations of becoming an animator as a child, Joey later discovered his love of teaching children through martial arts. He holds a B.S. in Kinesiology and M.Ed in Educational Administration, but finds his enjoyment and purpose in teaching Health and Physical Education to his wonderful students of 11 years. Melanie has always found great joy in working with children. She is a former elementary teacher, elementary and secondary administrator, and counselor. Melanie holds a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Counseling. She has a love for building relationships, connecting with others, and is currently working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.
