Description

Music is an area of the curriculum of which teachers have often felt unnecessarily apprehensive. This book dispels the myth that to teach music effectively a teacher has to "be musical", and provides teachers with the opportunity of developing both the basic subject knowledge and the confidence needed to deliver enjoyable and valuable music lessons. It does this by encouraging practical engagement with the subject through making and listening to music, reflecting on experiences and sharing views.

Author Biography:

Sarah Hennessy is currently Lecturer in Music Education at Exeter University, prior to which she practised as a classroom and then an advisory teacher of music.
