The frame is pretty sturdy and can handle weight well enough (had to initially tighten the joints but hasn't fallen just yet). My only issue is the pivot joint on the clamp. I've got the arm on my coffee table to the left of me and move the arm from 12 o'clock position to around 2 o'clock so it's across my body. The issue is that direction is also the way the bolt un tightens so repeatedly moving it from 12–2 and back loosens it. It's easily fixed with the hex key, but it does need fixing almost every 2–3 time its moved. If you're keeping it straight up it might not be a problem
