"I would pay more for this"

Purchased on Mighty Ape

To be frank, I was only buying it to support Ben Croshaw who does game reviews with a special brand of humor I really enjoy.

But I see now that Mr. Croshaw is more talented than your average fast-talking Englishman doing stick figure(I don't know what else to call them) comedy.

Theres no point to regurgitating the book summary, so all I'll say is that this story is told completely different from the traditional style and may offend catholic grandmothers with it's more vulgar dialogue, but programmers, gamers, and people who passed all their English papers throughout compulsory education will enjoy it.

"Brings what books need: good humour."

Yahtzee Croshaw proves that he has what it takes to provide a spectacular novel for the masses. With a unique point of view for a protagonist, side-splitting comedy, moments of chills and a thought-provoking ending, Mogworld is a fantastic book that appeals to everyone, and not just gamers.

"Excellent read as a satire piece"

Any fan of the mmorpg genre will get a kick out of this satire viewpoint of the gameworld coming from the npcs. Well written by Zero Punctuation star “Yahtzee” Croshaw, his stylistic humor comes across in printed form just as well.

Description

In a world full to bursting with would-be heroes, Jim couldn't be less interested in saving the day. His fireballs fizzle. He's awfully grumpy. Plus, he's been dead for about sixty years. When a renegade necromancer wrenches him from eternal slumber and into a world gone terribly, bizarrely wrong, all Jim wants is to find a way to die properly, once and for all. On his side, he's got a few shambling corpses, an inept thief, and a powerful death wish. But he's up against tough odds: angry mobs of adventurers, a body falling apart at the seams - and a team of programmers racing a deadline to hammer out the last few bugs in their AI.
