This doormat from NZ design company Moana Rd is made from Coir, which is the “hair” on the outside of coconuts. The coir comes from Kerala – a state on India's tropical Malabar Coast, which is also referred to as “The Land of the Coconuts”.
The tukutuku pattern shown on this doormat is Kaokao, which represents protection, and was designed by Miriama Grace-Smith.
