This book is great for reading to preschool through first or second grade students. Papa, and his granddaughter Miss V, set off on a trip from their home in the country into town. They pass several animal friends at various spots in town, then happen upon a mother duck and her nine little ducklings. The ducklings are still very small and can't climb the curb onto the sidewalk where their mother is. So, together, Papa and Miss V help the little ducklings onto the sidewalk with their mother.
