Description

A hilarious and magical new adventure for children who need a bit of escapism right now. Millie Barton is bored. She's even more bored than you, and you're back in LOCKDOWN for the GAZILLIONTH TIME! She also happens to possess an amazing and secret skill. So secret, in fact, that she doesn't even know about it herself. Millie lives in the entirely unremarkable village of Harpleford, with her gaming-obsessed brother Josh and her dull-beyond-belief parents. Her heart's bursting to explore the great outdoors, but she's barely allowed beyond the boundaries of her back garden. Then one typically tedious Saturday morning, her world gets rather literally turned upside-down by peculiar pet shop owner Mr Armitage Pitts; a man who only stocks farting hamsters, and is clearly hiding something. He leads Millie to the other side of the globe on a mission to save the planet from a terrifying techno trillionaire. And on the way, she discovers exactly what it means to be a complete Catastrophe... The first book in an uproarious new adventure series, perfect for fans of Andy Shepherd, Jeff Kinney, Liz Pichon, and David Baddiel.

Author Biography:

Adam Strange is the author of Millie Barton is a Catastrophe! - the first book in the Society of Extraordinary Adventurers series for 8-12 year-olds who like their books to be extremely silly but also to offer a few world-changing ideas along the way. He grew up in the beautiful Dorset countryside by the sea and when he's not stuck at his computer writing things about himself for Amazon he likes to get outside with his children and create adventures with them. These adventures only sometimes result in mud-spattered clothes, grazed knees or lost footwear. Adam Strange is quite tall and has a belly button that goes all the way through his stomach and out the other side. He is also a comic book superhero. Only one of these statements is untrue.
