Description

This practical workbook provides guidance for applying tacit knowledge to the field of Human Resource Management (HRM) to promote positive workplace culture and creativity. Based on theories presented in Examining Creativity in the Workplace by Nahanni Freeman and Brenda Slusser, the workbook looks at five key areas of tacit knowledge, showing its importance in any organization to promote creativity and innovation in the workplace. Each section begins with a summary of key research and concepts that are supported by case studies, discussion questions and other practical activities to solidify understanding of the terms and ideas learned and unlock optimal team performance. With its accessible structure, it highlights how cultural diversity is a must within any organization for the successful formation of social networks where tacit knowledge can be transferred, and suggests how HRM activities and best practices are critical for increasing engagement and fostering a positive working environment that lets innovation thrive. Suitable as a standalone text or alongside Examining Creativity in the Workplace, this workbook is the ideal resource for use as part of corporate-level training for practitioners, as well as in the classroom for scholars and postgraduate students in Human Resource Management and Behavioral Psychology programs.
