"The Beacon, asserting himself." A crime is not just the criminal and the deed. There's a lot of the Beacon's guilt left to resolve. Since he can access other minds, his method of dumping guilt goes far beyond denial. "Little lights. Little eyes. Beacons." Mr. Way and the Fearsome Shade confront the fruits of the Beacon's reign of terror on Samdy, and discover another world just one step over where the Beacon is very busy indeed.
