Author Biography:

Donald K. Smith has taught, researched and guided cultural research in nearly 100 nations, primarily in Africa and Asia, focusing on communication. In 30 years of African residence, the Smiths co-founded Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya, trained and supervised Bible translation teams, published a major Christian magazine (South Africa) and literacy materials in Ndebele and Shona (Zimbabwe), and counseled major development work in South Sudan. He chaired the Division of Intercultural Studies of Western Seminary, Portland, Oregon, USA. The Smiths began WorldView Center under the umbrella of the Institute for International Christian Communication, based in Portland, Oregon, USA. They have recently returned to permanent ministry at Daystar University in Kenya.
