String Quartet No. 16 in F major, Op. 135, by Ludwig van Beethoven was written in October 1826 and was the last major work he completed. It is in four movements: I. Allegretto (F major) II. Vivace (F major) III. Lento assai, cantante e tranquillo (D-Flat major) IV. Der schwer gefaßte Entschluß. He had a significant influence on the transition from the Classical to the Romantic era of music, and to this day he is considered to be one the most celebrated and important composers of all time.
