Drawing on place-based field investigations and new empirical analysis, this original book investigates civil society at local level. Author Biography:

Robin Mann is Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Bangor University. David Dallimore is Honorary Research Associate at Bangor University. Howard Davis is Professor Emeritus of Social Theory and Institutions at Bangor University. Graham Day is Emeritus Reader in Sociology at Bangor University and a WISERD Fellow. Marta Eichsteller is Assistant Professor and Ad Astra Fellow in Sociology at University College Dublin.
