Description

Jack Forrest is a married man with a secret. He has persuaded the other partner in his Estate Agent business, James Bolton, to employ Lynsey Robson as Team Secretary. Lynsey previously lived in Glasgow, but Jack has helped her to move to the Lanarkshire area so that she can be nearer to him. He has a confession to make to his wife and is having difficulty in 'biting the bullet'. James, however, takes against Lynsey because Jack has insisted on his employing her. He decides to try to get rid of her and begins to make her life a misery in any way that he can. As the story progresses, Lynsey and James are almost always at loggerheads. Lynsey, through no fault of her own, becomes enmeshed in a web of deceit and intrigue. Against this backdrop of relationships in crisis, Lynsey's mother, Julia, makes an appearance and events begin to escalate.

Author Biography

Elizabeth Scott is 54 years of age and is married with three grown-up sons. She is originally from the Lanarkshire area but has lived in Livingston for the last 30 years. She spent 16 years at home bringing up her family and then returned to full-time employment in Edinburgh. She has been working as an audio typist with a firm of property consultants for the last five years. Some years ago she studied Psychology, Sociology and Criminology with the Open University and was awarded a BA (Open) in 1990. Elizabeth wanted to be a fiction writer since she was 10 years old so about two years ago, she began a Comprehensive Writing Course with the Writers Bureau in order to give her some writing practice and some literary direction. She enjoyed the course but didn't finish it because as soon as she started doing the fiction assignments, she wrote a synopsis of a story that had been in her head for years, and then just went straight into writing the novel, knowing that she could write at least one book. 'Living a Life' is her first novel, and she very much hopes it won't be her last.
