You Have an Appointment with God! "At the appointed time . . ." Genesis 18:14 Do you find yourself running ahead of God? Do you struggle to keep your appointment because you are fearful of what God might say if He were to speak to you? After all, He is an All-Powerful God. One word and your life is over . . . But is this God? Well, the truth is: God is out to get you. Yet, "do not fear"; for though "God has come to test you" it is not for the purpose of your destruction. When you finally understand that the appointed time is the anointed time, then you have discovered the power of God to affect mighty change in your life. His desire is that you live before Him in such a way that you need not sin. In other words, God wants you to be like Him. When He speaks to you, it is not primarily for your benefit. Rather, it is for the purpose of revealing His glory; and by His glory, you are transformed. This transformation brings with it a passion for God's glory that is revealed in a life of obedience. Obedience then is not a drudgery to be endured, but pure delight to be lived. Are you struggling now to live the obedient life? Remember the appointed time. The obedient life will follow.
