Useful product & gives prompt delivery of hot water. Draw back is it seems to only work if filled from a jug rather than removing the internal fixture. Water leaks at base if internal jug is used so disappointing.

1. There doesn't appear to be a non-return valve in the water line from the base to the top so when you lift the tank off to refill it, water drains all over the bench. This forces you to fill the tank using a jug. Even then it still leaks occasionally.
2. The hot water pours in a dribble and splashes over the dispenser which is a problem if you put the beverage and milk in first.
3. There are deep fins down the front of the dispenser which makes it hard to clean.
4. At least 10 cups had to be poured before the plastic taste in the hot drink dissipated, not the “few times” recommended in the manual.
5. It doesn't dispense very quickly and doesn't turn off when the cup is full, so you have to watch it.
6. Other than the faults it doesn't take up much bench space and it's ideal for a couple.

I really love this, and have used it a lot in the 3 days that I've had it. Naturally, the water comes out slower than pouring from a jug, but it's instant boiling water and whisper-quiet, unlike a noisy jug. I haven't experienced any leakage problems from the water tank like other reviewers seem to have, even when detaching it from the unit and filling it. They should request a replacement because that sounds like a fault rather than a design issue. With a kettle, I used to turn it on and go and do something else because I couldn't be bothered waiting for it to boil. Then I'd often forget that it had boiled and it would cool down a bit and I'd have to re-boil it. This unit has abolished that problem for me. It will probably save power as well. It's been great not just for hot drinks, but also for cooking because the instant boiling water slashes the heating time on the stove/microwave.
