Author Biography:

Dr. Mayfield is a career naval officer who served 27 years on active duty, achieving the rank of submarine commander. He now works as Plant Manager for a private energy company near Charlottesville, Virginia. The team Dr. Mayfield leads has received numerous awards including 19 Best Practice Awards and the "Decade of Excellence" award from the Combined Cycle Journal, and was named one of the "model gas-fired plants in the world" by Power Magazine. Dr. Mayfield is an extensively published author and community leader and advocate in the areas of knowledge management, succession planning, workforce development, Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education (STEM). He serves as Chairman of the CTE Advisory Committee and the Virginia Career Education Foundation Executive Council within the Virginia Board of Education.
