Description

King Lear wants to split his territory among his three daughters, based on how much each of them loves him. And to find that out, he asks them to convince him of their love for him. His two elder daughters move him with their articulateness, although they don't truly love him. His youngest, who truly loved him, refuses to participate in this pretentious act. Hence, the king denies her the lawful inheritance. After receiving their share of wealth, the two elder princesses cast the King out of his own kingdom, and Lear is driven mad by the betrayal. He is then trailed around by his truthful daughter, which makes him realise that there is yet one person who genuinely loves him.
