Description

Praise for Janice Galloway's short stories: 'Stories that walk with steady, nerve-cracking skill down a nightmare edge. A virtuoso work.'New Statesman 'Blood is a salutary collection. It heightens and dignifies the human, and does it with writing that veers between the good and the simply superb. A writer of passion and virtuosity shines through.' Scotland on Sunday 'Genuinely unnerving. This is a fierce, troubling new writer.' Observer 'Galloway flecks her hard-edged realism with impressionist grace-notes, a potent mixture that confirms her as one of Scotlands best young writers.' Sunday Telegraph 'Where You Find It is the real McCoy. No-one writes like Galloway.' Sunday Sun 'The writing can be felt on your pulses. Galloway is a literary endoscopist. Writing has rarely been so visceral.' Independent 'In this collection, among bars of darkness, are spears of lights only Janice Galloway knows how to sharpen.' Scotland on Sunday 'In her best work, nothing is ordinary...she makes the surreal flicker like a blue flame from the edge of the everyday.' Times Literary Supplement
