Description

Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade’s The Games Do Count—an inspiring collection of stories of how sports have influenced America’s best and brightest—spent seven weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. Now, at long last, the follow-up book to his smash hit is here. It’s How You Play the Game, in the same vein and format of its predecessor, is an anthology about winning and losing on the playing field of life. The world’s greatest athletes—from fromer NFL star Terry Bradshaw to Daytona 500 winner Jimmie Johnson, from boxer Evander Holyfield to female soccer great Mia Hamm—share their personal stories of the defining sports moments in their lives. Each pro explains how the discipline and rules they learned on the field prepared them to handle life with dignity and sportsmanship. Surprising, entertaining, and always imparting an important life lesson, It’s How You Play the Game features anecdotes and vignettes from athletes such as: • Cal Ripken, Jr. • Mick Foley • Julie Foudy • Steve Young • Pat Summit • Mike Modano • Danielle Green • Coach Bill Yoast • Joe Montana These recollections are sure to benefit any reader, whether a sports fan who picks up the book hoping to see a good story about his favorite baseball player, or a scruffy kid who received the book as a gift from a parent. The games do count, Kilmeade’s latest surefire hit will tell readers, but in life as in sports, it’s also how you play the game that matters.
