Lukas Vischer (1928-2008) was Director of the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches 1966-1979. The re-issue of his seminal book, first published in 1980, explores the concept of Intercession in Old and New Testaments and in the tradition of the Church; and urges Christians to take seriously his call for those in the churches to pray - deliberately and regularly - for all who call on Christ's name. Lukas Vischer (1928-2008) was a Swiss Reformed theologian, author, and advocate of ecumenical dialogue among the world's Christian churches. He was Director of the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches 1966-1979.
