Ultra-portability

iRig Pads is so portable that you can take it with you anywhere. It’s smaller than an iPad and less than 1” thick (23mm). It features a slim, compact and lightweight design that can be slipped into any backpack or laptop bag and carried around with ease. And for even greater portability it’s been designed with ultra low-consumption, which means it’s fully functional as soon as you connect it into its host device — You don’t need a power adaptor. Just plug it in to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch via its included Lightning cable (30-pin connector sold separately) or your Mac or PC via its included USB cable and start groovin’.

You’ll enjoy incredible tactile control thanks to iRig Pads’ 4×4 grid of 16 velocity-sensitive, backlit multicolor rubber pads. Each pad lights up in multiple colors – red, green, orange and every shade in between – depending on the velocity of your playing and the MIDI information sent by your chosen music app or software.

But iRig Pads does more than your average mobile pad-based MIDI controller. Its full set of controls — two knobs, two pushbuttons, one slider and one pushbutton rotary encoder — provides a versatility that lets you be in control in any situation. All controls are MIDI assignable and customizable: Up to 16 distinct MIDI maps or “scenes” can be saved and recalled instantly for full control of apps and software. It comes with 6 pre-programmed default scenes that allow it to work with popular apps and software right out of the box.

Easy editing

iRig Pads has been made so that you can easily customize so that it fits seamlessly into your creative process. It comes with an easy-to-use free editing program called iRig Pads Editor. Available for Mac and PC, it features an intuitive single-screen interface that lets lets you quickly create, edit and transfer scenes to iRig Pads. This gives you full control over all MIDI messages and assignments from the convenience of your computer. Now you can customize and tailor iRig Pads so that it fits your own unique production and performance workflows. iRig Pads Editor is available inside the User Area.

To help you get in the groove, IK is working to make iRig Pads the ultimate controller for beats, loops and more by adding support for a growing suite of powerful apps and software.

Better beats

Rig Pads' familiar 16-pad layout makes it an ideal platform for creating beats while on the go. It comes with a free copy of SampleTank 3 SE for Mac/PC, a full-featured version of IK's next generation sound and groove workstation. Its 6.5GB library of 400 instruments and 150 MIDI patterns combines effortlessly with iRig Pads to make a complete production workstation. And, if that wasn't enough sounds, when you register your iRig Pads you'll also receive The Grid (an exclusive sound collection for beat makers that features 50 additional instruments with over 800 samples and 50 MIDI patterns) plus 5 additional sound libraries of your choice from our Elektronika and Beats Series collections as well as 25 Gear Credits to be put towards any other sound library in SampleTank 3's new Custom Shop.

iRig Pads also comes with SampleTank free for iPhone/iPod touch and iPad, the portable version of IK’s powerful sound workstation. Full of high quality sampled instruments, drums, loops and MIDI patterns; it puts a world of sound in your pocket. With iRig Pads you can control it to effortlessly make beats and grooves with its drum machine-style “pads” interface. You can also use The Grid sound library in this portable version.

Loops and grooves

But there’s more to iRig Pads than just beat making — it’s also an ideal tool for cueing grooves and launching loops. It will soon support GrooveMaker 2 free for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad: You’ll be able to trigger loops and grooves in real time from the pads to remix non-stop electronic, dance and hip-hop tracks and get results that always sound like professional productions. You’ll even be able to use iRig Pads’ buttons and knobs to change BPM, fade volume, add effects and more. With iRig Pads and GrooveMaker 2 in the mix, you’ll be able to control the groove like never before.

Digital decks

Beyond its music-making abilities, iRig Pads can also be used for live DJ mixing. You will also soon be able to use it with DJ Rig free for iPad. It’s a full-featured DJ mixing app that lets you sync and blend the songs in your device’s iTunes Music Library via two virtual turntables. With iRig Pads you’ll be able to push the pitch, control effects and EQs, cue samples and enjoy nearly full tactile control of the app. With iRig Pads and DJ Rig, you have a portable DJ setup that you can take with you anywhere.

And that’s only scratching the surface — iRig Pads is also fully MIDI class-compliant, which means you can use it and customize its controls for use with virtually any MIDI-compatible app — like FL Studio Mobile, iMPC Pro, GarageBand — or computer software — like MPC Software, Ableton Live, Maschine and more.

iRig – Keys

37 key universal mini keyboard controller

iRig Keys is the first ultra-slim and highly portable universal MIDI controller keyboard for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Android and Mac/PC. iRig Keys connects directly to your iOS device via the included Lightning connector, to your Android device via the included OTG to Micro-USB cable and to your Mac/PC via the included USB cable. It can also connect to older iOS devices via an optional 30-pin cable.

It features 37 velocity-sensitive mini-keys — a full 3-octave range plus one note — takes up minimal space on your desktop and can easily fit in a backpack or a carry-on bag.

iRig Keys is MIDI and USB class compliant for a true plug-and-play experience both with iOS and Android devices as well as Mac/PC. No additional apps, software or drivers are necessary to get it up and running.

For total mobility, iRig Keys is also an ultra-low power consumption unit. When hooked up to an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, it can be powered by the device, and for longer playing sessions it can be powered by the available USB port. When connected to a Mac/PC, the USB port powers it.

iRig Keys includes Lightning, OTG to Micro-USB, and USB cables, allowing you to start playing right out of the box with your favorite mobile devices. The USB cable lets you connect to any Mac or PC.

And if you want to connect to an older iOS device, all you have to do is pick up an optional 30-pin cable.

If you purchased an iRig Keys with Lightning or an iRig Keys PRO starting October 1, 2015, you are eligible to receive a free OTG to Micro-USB cable, if one is not included. Contact IK Support to request your free cable. Make sure to register the iRig Keys with Lightning or iRig Keys PRO and provide proof of purchase. Please allow 4–6 weeks for processing and shipment. Also, all requests must be made within 60 days of purchase.

A small controller with great features

For maximum playing comfort and versatility, iRig Keys includes modulation and pitch-bending wheels, plus an input for an optional sustain or expression pedal that accommodates any virtuosic playing style, all housed in a sleek ultra-compact durable package.

iRig Keys features an easy-to-use control panel that gives you 5 backlit soft-touch buttons and one volume/data knob. You will find Program and Octave up/down buttons plus a Set button that will allow you to store up to 4 different set ups for the complete iRig Keys configuration. An Edit mode is also available to transpose the keyboard, send specific program change messages, customize touch sensitivity, change MIDI channel, reassign Vol/Data knob MIDI control change and access to other useful MIDI functions in a flash.

All these parameters can be stored in Sets using the Set button and recalled in a snap, to allow for quick sound switching and easy control of various instruments or apps on the fly.
