Description

Christians are to be a joyous people. So it should not be surprising to find humor in the Bible. Wendell Ford explores the use of humor in the New Testament writings attributed to Paul. Humor is not always easy to recognize because it can take many different forms. The use of humor in teaching doesn't take away from the seriousness or importance of the teaching-and it may even help make sense of an otherwise difficult passage. As you recognize the use of humor in the Bible, your Bible study time will become even more enjoyable. The author has also included an appendix on humor in the Bible in the form of an adult Bible class. If you think humor has no place in religion or in the Bible, you just may change your mind! Wendell Ford is a retired electrical engineer who has worked in missile guidance systems, computer speech, and satellite instrumentation. He has taught adult Bible classes since his college days and has designed curricula for adult Bible class programs. He was adjunct lecturer in Math and Physics at Pepperdine University for five years. His hobbies include running, woodworking, and model railroading.
