The 36 chapters are divided into three key areas: UNIX Fundamentals, HP-UX System Administration and HP-UX Network Administration. These chapters cover topics that are on HP's recommended certification courses - UNIX Fundamentals, System and Network Administration I, System and Network Administration II, and HP-UX for Experienced UNIX System Administrators - as well as on official exam objectives list. 1. UNIX Fundamentals (chapters 1 to 6, and 22) covers the basics of UNIX and HP-UX. Most information is not specific to a particular UNIX flavor, rather, includes general UNIX concepts, file manipulation and security techniques, vi editor, shell and awk programming, basic commands and other essential topics. Unlike many other similar books, a chapter on shell scripting is presented after covering HP-UX System Administration area.
