Description

A plain-language medical guide for horse owners and trainers Painful and potentially debilitating tendon and ligament injuries are among the most common and serious physiological problems facing performance horses. Frustrating to deal with and difficult to diagnose, these injuries can be overcome, and permanent damage minimized, with proper treatment. This authoritative guide is an important resource for owners, trainers, and the ever-increasing number of first-time horse owners. In concise, accessible language, it provides the latest information on tendon and ligament injuries, discusses treatment options, and helps people monitor the recovery process. Linda B. Schultz, DVM, PhD (Sewanee, GA), grew up riding and showing quarter horses in Southern California. She is the former owner-operator of an equine medicine and surgery practice and has more than 14 years of veterinary experience.
