Description

There are a huge variety of charity shops, many constrained by rules and regulations. This book contains many ideas to get the most out of charity shops based on the expertise and ideas of the volunteers who work in them. Many volunteers despair at the number of goods that do not reach the shop floor and have to be discarded and sold at a ridiculously low price to private contractors. This can be avoided by reducing prices, simple repairs or cleaning in some cases. It is important to display things well but huge expenditure on refits to retail standard also can change the clientele and cause a fall in profit. Hopefully the ideas presented in this book can form a basis for discussion at managerial level on ways forward for better satisfaction for staff and customers.
