The paper considers the history of the Voluntary Society for Assistance to the Army, Aviation and Navy from the moment of its formation to the collapse of the USSR, the main purpose of which was to contribute to the strengthening of the country's defence capability, patriotic education of young people and preparing them for the defence of the Motherland. The role of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the period of formation of military-technical schools of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan is marked. The peculiarities of training, estimated annual revenue of the Republican State Enterprise "Military-Technical School of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and the number of trained military-trained reserve for the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan are analysed. The author points out the need to revive and continue the experience of the Voluntary Society for Assistance to the Army, Aviation and Navy in preparing young people for the army and fostering the spirit of patriotism in the younger generation of the country, creating a healthy, sporting atmosphere among young people, in the return of the spirit of unity, friendship, the opportunity to work with professional instructors.
