Description

The continuation of Hick's Road: Jacob's Story, as told by the journal of Ann Miller. Picking-up moments after Ann and Jacob part ways during a battle with the Hand of Transcendence, Ann mitigates the new challenges she faces with her surrogate Skitcha family and aristocratic upbringing. Aspiring to a position in the government, Ann questions the status-quo as a woman of the 1850s while working secretly on behalf of the tribe in a case against the reconstruction of the Quicksilver Mining Company. While protecting the spiritual roots of the Skitcha, Ann finds herself confronted by a mysterious group of businessmen who jeopardize the safety of Almaden Valley when they plan to construct a road that could divide the powers of the land as they know it. Presented with these threats, Ann must carve her own path as she fights for her family, the land, and the future of the tribe.

Author Biography:

An American Storyteller born and raised in Willow Glen, CA, Julian P. Flores' art of storytelling began early in life. After focusing his college studies on art, history, philosophy, and design, Julian turned his eye to films, holding a major interest in the thriller and horror genres. Over the years Julian founded the company Silent Eye Productions, as well as his independent film called "Hicks Road", which was featured in various film festivals. It was only a matter of time before Julian put pen to paper to write "Hicks Road: Jacob's Story" and now "Hicks Road: Ann's Story", inspired by the generations of urban legends that stem from the actual Hicks Road in Almaden, CA. When he isn't writing Julian is a lover of wine, art, food, gardening, the outdoors, socializing, watching movies, and reading (of course). You can go to his production company's website at www.silenteyeproductions.com for social media and updated news, stories, and historical information.
