Born and raised in Central Iowa, Shannon and Vinny are a homeschooling mother-and-son team that creates stories, skits, and songs. Hero of the Black Hills is their third book with the Write Place. In May 2019, Diamond Garden Music produced a second song with Shannon, titled "Love Song." Both of her songs are now being pitched to Nashville artists. In every project they take on, Shannon and Vinny rely on their belief and faith that God is always present, listening, and ready to lend a helping hand. Writing and illustrating books, creating songs, and traveling around the U.S. has not only been fun for Shannon and Vinny, it has introduced them to many interesting people. Their trips have given them inspiration and a unique perspective of the world. It's also been a wonderful opportunity to learn to value the human heart, especially the many emotions we all feel during our journey through life.
