Author Biography:

Steven Jaynes lives in Merrimack, New Hampshire with his wife, Laura and their two children, Julie and Steven Jnr. Struck down at age 47 with a life threatening heart attack, his experience and feelings before, during and after the his surgery are the basis for this book. Steve has written this 'slice of life' account for friends and family of heart attack victims. Through Steven's book, you will learn exactly how some of the procedures feel and what the hospital experience is like. The reader is taken through the whole even of actually having the attack, the people who intervene and save his life, the ambulance ride, emergency room experience and much more. It is not a "how to " book, preventative advise or medical writing. It is instead a window in on the actual experiences he endured and its interwoven with a message for everyone about denial and how it is a serious killer. Heart attacks are the number one killer in our society today and several hundred thousand people die each year because they deny the symptoms or signs they are experiencing. This book explains how denial almost killed the author and how important immediate medical assistance is to the survival of someone experiencing cardiac arrest. The author's hope is that denial awareness will save lives!
