I found this book extremely helpful because it gives step-by-step eating plans with easy to cook recipes (with very few exotic ingredients!), including foundation recipes and basics, and explains the science behind each step.

Author Biography

Gavin Pritchard, RD, CSSD, CD-N, CDE, is an Outpatient Registered Dietician with Population Health and Prevention at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut. He is a seasoned nutritionist and health-supportive chef who has the unique ability to effectively guide individuals, families, and groups toward their goals, with personalised approaches to nutrition planning, menu creation and shopping and improving health-supportive cooking skills. Maya Gangadharan, NTP, is a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. After successfully using the GAPS diet to address her own digestive issues, she decided to concentrate her practice on gut health. She also teaches classes on nutrition and presents kitchen demonstrations on making probiotic foods and beverages at Detroit's Eastern Market Community Kitchen.
