Lynne's career centered on media - television in particular. She was a professor who taught such courses as Television Production, Scriptwriting, Radio-TV Programming, and Global Media. During her 19 years at California State University, Fullerton, she served as Vice Chair of the Communications Department and was instrumental in setting up a Radio-Television-Film Department. She was a producer for several television series including a 45-program music history series for public television and an instructional series about craft and technical jobs in television. She has written 12 books about media, mainly textbooks and trade books. She has also written numerous journal and magazine articles and several other self-published personal books. Her career has taken her to Malaysia, Swaziland, Estonia, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, and Guyana, where she has taught radio and television production and consulted on movie planning and postproduction equipment. She has been active in many professional organizations, serving as a Governor of the TV Academy and President of the Broadcast Education Association.
