Hans-Peter Feldmann's work draws on an enormous personal archive he has spent decades gathering. In this collection of black and white amateur photographs, the theme of love is reiterated through wedding pictures, portraits and informal snapshots. For Feldmann, the stereotypical, even cliched compositions of these appropriated photographs can often be overlooked because of their familiarity. He rescues these through either isolating the images or, in this case, presenting them in themed groups. This album continues Feldmann's preoccupation with pastiche, and his organization of the existent into recognizable genres and subjects.
