Hannibal
How long can a man stay silent before he returns to the thing he does best? After having successfully eluded the authorities for years, Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) peacefully lives in Italy in disguise as an art scholar. Trouble strikes again when he is discovered leaving yet another body in his wake.
He returns back to his homeland of America to once again make contact with now disgraced Agent Clarice Starling (Julianne Moore) who is suffering the wrath of a malicious FBI official/rival, Paul Krendler (Ray Liotta) as well as the media. Meanwhile, Hannibal must survive the advances by a disfigured and vengeful victim he first came in contact with years ago as a patient, Mason verger (Gary Oldman). He also finds himself being tracked down by the authorities as well as vengeful relations of his previous victims.
Critic Reviews:
- " Scott does justice to The Silence of the Lambs and the character of Hannibal in general, even without a few key pieces, and despite toning Harris's novel down plenty. " – C.H. Newell
- " A dark and complexly entertaining ride, highly generous to multiple viewings. " – Rob Gonsalves
- " Scott's elegant, shadowy atmosphere and deliberate pacing make the film a delightfully spooky experience. " – Jeffrey M. Anderson
