Description

Parents are the most influential adults in their children's lives, and are therefore the best presenters of God's plan of salvation. This parent-and-child coloring book serves as a child's companion book to the forty-five-day, Good News For You: Child and Parent Devotional. The coloring book reinforces the lessons that explain the gospel of Jesus Christ by pairing scripture with simple but powerful illustrations. Playing off the letter U, the book explains how we are vessels designed by God to be filled by God himself. Through our own free choice, however, we allow ourselves to be filled with the evils of this world. Scott's illustrations make the problem abundantly clear. And the solution is brilliantly simple: "Christ in you, the hope of glory." (Colossians 1:27 NIV). Fifty-three illustrations walk children through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and life as a child of God. Twenty-one scriptures in the coloring book inspire the child and parent to believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The devotional and coloring book challenge the children to answer the question, "Who are you?" The devotional and coloring book expose the reality of sin in them and the world. It presents God's solution for sin and explains the salvation decision in a kid-friendly way that makes sense. At the end of the forty-five-day devotional children can realize their identity in Christ and have a better understanding of God's grace and His nature. Twelve years in the making, Good News For You Child and Parent Coloring Book is Scott's gift to families. By coloring the illustrations children will be entertained and engaged in the devotional. Puzzles in the back of book keep the coloring book kid-friendly.

Author Biography:

Scott Middleton, follower of Jesus, has been an advertising art director, advertising sales executive prior to his current role as publisher for Our Journey Publishing company. Scott graduated from The University of Tennessee - Knoxville in advertising and worked in the field for over twenty years, winning five Addy Awards. Then on January 12, 1999, Scott was saved by the grace of God. After that moment, and for the next fifteen years, God began to use Scott's creative talents combined with his professional advertising skills to teach children in Sunday School. Instead of making customers buy more products, Scott's goal became to make children into disciples of Jesus Christ. Using Galatians 6:7-8 and Colossians 1:27, Scott explained the Gospel to his third graders using clear illustrations and simple concepts. Playing off the letter "U," Scott shared the meaning of "Christ in you, the hope of Glory." The kids in his Sunday School class understood that what is in them defines them, and if they invited Jesus into their hearts by faith, their lives would be transformed forever. Scott designed his books to be kid-friendly and parent-friendly, so the parents could become the teacher. Parents are the most influential adults in their children's lives and therefore the best presenters of God's plan of salvation. The Good News For You books are meant to empower parents so they could share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with their children. Brent Baldwin has been a writer, marketer and proposal manager in his career. Since then he has helped companies win more than $700 million in work. He has a B.A. in English from Harding University and he lives outside of Nashville with his wife and three children.
