Description

For eight years, the husband and wife crime-fighting team of Pierce Quincy and Rainie Conner has been unbeatable. Now, the unthinkable has happened: Rainie has disappeared. The only trace of her police can find is her abandoned vehicle...with blood in the driver's seat. Pierce Quincy is about to start the case of his life to the save the only woman he has ever loved. Assisted by his daughter, FBI Agent Kimberley Quincy, and her lover, Special Agent Mac McCormack, Quincy must race against the clock to crack a kidnapping case with preciously few clues. Disappearing the same day as Rainie - a seven-year old boy, Dougie Jones. Surely the two cases are related, but how? Then there is the matter of Rainie's latest case - an investigation into a string of shootings up and down the Oregon Coast. Rainie thought she was on the verge of a major discovery. Could that mysterious sniper - or pair of snipers - be who snatched her? But who are these men, and how can Quincy find them? Chasing lead after lead, mired down by small-town cops who impede the investigation, and a torrential downpour that's destroying the evidence, Quincy must work harder and think faster than ever before. After twenty years as a profiler, he thought he had seen it all. In the next forty-eight hours, however, with Rainie's life hanging in the balance, he will learn that he is wrong.
