Graphics-
The graphics of GoW2 are as good as they can get on the PS2. The maps and
scenery are beautifully detailed and the enemies are well designed. Also the
game generates amazingly brutal animations with blood gushing out of Kratos'
victims upon every hit. It may not be realistic to have enemies lose three
gallons of blood every second but the game as a whole is based on myth so it
isn't supposed to be realistic.
Sound: The music is great, but honestly most people won't hear it because of
the amazing sound effects. The screams of soldiers and and other creatures will
ring through your game room as you play adding to your ability to immerse
yourself in the cinematic quality of GoW2.
Gameplay: The most important part of every game is where GoW2 shines. As I'm
sure that you already know you get to tear though thousands of troops with your
blades of chaos just like you did in the first game, but GoW2 fixes something
that bothered me in GoW1 and that was the poor amount of bosses. GoW2 has about
20 or so bosses when the first game had like 2 or 3. GoW2 also has a simple
system that can result in complicated combos; however button mashing can be just
as effective. GoW2 also has a lot less puzzles and the few that it does are
rather easy.
Overall/Wrap up: This game is a great action game that most people will like;
however it does have its flaws which is why it didn't get a 10 out of
10 rating. Much like the first game GoW2 is short, you can beat it in about
10–15 hours, which is an improvement over the first God of War which was about
8 hours. Another flaw is that it is an easy game, with button mashing you can
finish it but it will not be as fun without seeing all of Kratos' animations of
dismembering the enemies. As a final word this game is worth you time and money
because you will get an experience that you will never forget and will have you
coming back for more.
I'll give this a good 9/10
