Description

Glam Rock Boyfriends - audacious, love-struck, and music-mad, a recall of the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Rock 'n' roll, with croony swoons, jazz bursts, manic glitzy sass, then punk fits rip, segueing into oonst electronica. Later the ocean calls, and our anti-heroine gathers distinct treasures, she side-steps to unpredicted, involved after-effects. A truly original novel revealing a complex personal narrative across Europe, Britain and New Zealand. Alexander's first novel, FAT, "...colourful text with lots of great lines... luscious and coruscating ...." - Gerry Webb. Second novel Concrete, was "...skilfully worked . . . Imagery is precise and vivid with some offbeat metaphors and a punchy, poetic style..." - Mike Eager. This, Alexander's third novel - developed for nine years - offers ingenious, disturbingly realistic, and fabulous scenarios. Glam Rock Boyfriends, quite a back-stage trip. Prepare to reshuffle and renovate your preconceptions.
