The book gives us information about the flavones, Gardenin A and B of Dikamali gum-resin (Gardenia gummifera Linn.). Research work on Dikamali gum-resin was initiated by keeping the views of traditional claims. Derivatization of Gardenin A and B led to the exploration of newer analogues, Gardenin A methyl ether and Gardenin B benzoate that are potent antihistamines.
