It was through the anime adaptation that I got into this series. However, I would have to say that the manga is, of course, better. The first chapter sets the tone of the story. It's quite dark as it addresses many adult-themed issues. Despite that, I love the little lighthearted and humourous moments that the main characters display throughout the story. I was immediately drawn to Kohske's art style and storytelling ability, the fictional underworld setting, and the unique main and side characters. The storyline – so far in this volume, anyway – is also really interesting as it deals with different themes such as discrimination, justice, and exploitation – just to name a few. I am excited to collect more of the volumes as I look forward to see the potential development of the story's characters, and to see how the story will unfold.
