"Great story expressed through Kohske's fantastic art style."
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

It was through the anime adaptation that I got into this series. However, I would have to say that the manga is, of course, better. The first chapter sets the tone of the story. It's quite dark as it addresses many adult-themed issues. Despite that, I love the little lighthearted and humourous moments that the main characters display throughout the story. I was immediately drawn to Kohske's art style and storytelling ability, the fictional underworld setting, and the unique main and side characters. The storyline – so far in this volume, anyway – is also really interesting as it deals with different themes such as discrimination, justice, and exploitation – just to name a few. I am excited to collect more of the volumes as I look forward to see the potential development of the story's characters, and to see how the story will unfold.

"Excellent start to the story"
5 stars"

Has its fair share of explicit content and is grittier than most manga but if you can get past that (or better yet, if that's your thing) then this is an excellent manga to get into! Gangsta has beautiful illustrations, a diverse range of characters both multicultural and disabled, AND an amazing story that holds a balance diet of funny light hearted moments and serious tear jerking scenes. Definitely worth the money.

Description

Got a problem? The Handymen can fix it —for a price. In the city of Ergastulum, a shady ville filled with made men and petty thieves, whores on the make and cops on the take, there are some deeds too dirty for even its jaded inhabitants to touch. Enter the “Handymen,” Nic and Worick, who take care of the jobs no one else will handle. Until the day when a cop they know on the force requests their help in taking down a new gang muscling in on the territory of a top Mafia family. It seems like business (and mayhem) as usual, but the Handymen are about to find that this job is a lot more than they bargained for.
