Description

This intimate and inspirational celebration of the power and pleasure of poetry brings to life one of America's most vibrant cultural events - the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival. Drawing established and emerging poets from all over the country, this "Woodstock of poetry" offers a unique chance to hear once-in-a-lifetime performances of the spoken word. Revered television journalist Bill Moyers has covered this event for more than a decade, and in this elegant companion volume to the PBS special he captures not only the poetry but the voices of the poets themselves as they talk with him about their sources of creativity. An invaluable tapestry of memorable voices and engaging poetry, this beautifully designed book will delight anyone who treasures the art of poetry.
