Description

When Vive discovers a magical shell that opens a portal to Lichendia, a woodland fairyland, the mermaid swiftly embarks on an epic adventure. With fairy wings, potions, and spells, she joins newfound friends to awaken strawberry elves. The woodland fairyland of Lichendia(R) is being brought to life by transforming the wool of sheep happily raised on Maine farms into needle felted works of art. With stories inspired by imaginative adventures in our home state of Maine, and drawing on talents throughout our creative economy, we're bringing Lichendia(R) from farm to bookshelf.

Author Biography:

Hillary Dow is a mother, author, and felting artist in Maine, publishing children's books illustrated with her wool creations. She loves the dance between creating a woodland fairyland out of colorful wool fibers and designing felting experiences around creativity kits that inspire imagination in others. Along with her husband, Adam, and their two children, Eva and Tyler, the Dow family loves exploring the outdoors, family adventures, reading, and eating dinner together every night at the kitchen table.
