A synthesis of material from Near Death accounts (including the author's), the writings of Alice A Bailey, and contemporary Buddhist teaching, portrays what may happen to us at birth and at death, and its significance for our daily life in time and our relationships with others, especially as illuminated in the life review which is common to many NDE's. The soul is seen as the vital linking factor between this world and the next - time and eternity - as distinct from the personality, which we need in order to navigate life on Earth.
