Author Biography:

Nora Lafi, Ph.D. (1999), Habil. (2011), Leibniz-Zentrum Moderner Orient, is Senior Research Felllow. She also teaches Islamic Studies at the Freie Universitat of Berlin. She published extensively on the theme of Ottoman cities. Nora Lafi, docteure en histoire (1999), habilitee a diriger des recherches (2011) est chercheuse au Leibniz-Zentrum Moderner Orient. Elle enseigne egalement a la Freie Universitat de Berlin. Elle a publie et dirige de nombreux articles et ouvrages sur les villes de l'empire ottoman.
